Delhi Airport Hotel Review 1: Andaz Delhi by Hyatt in Aerocity

If you are looking for a convenient luxury hotel near Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, Andaz Delhi by Hyatt is one of the most popular options. The location is excellent for transit travelers, and the hotel offers modern rooms along with a wide range of facilities.

In this post, I’ll share my experience with the room service, breakfast buffet, gym, pool, and even a nearby restaurantwithin walking distance of the hotel. If you're planning to stay near Delhi Airport, this guide should give you a helpful overview.

In-room Dining

When staying at hotels in India, I often rely on room service for most meals. Going out into the city can be inconvenient, and many local delivery apps require an Indian phone number. Fortunately, the room service at this hotel is quite decent, so meals are usually handled either through room service or the breakfast restaurant.

I ordered lamb shank and mushroom soup. The soup was surprisingly good, and the rice served with the meal was the typical long-grain rice commonly used in India.

Instead of my usual butter chicken, I decided to try basil chicken this time. It turned out to be quite enjoyable. Interestingly, the bread served with dinner room service is different from the bread offered during breakfast room service.

I also tried the Western-style breakfast room service. The dish came with scrambled eggs, mushrooms, and bacon on toast, but it wasn’t particularly impressive.

Honestly, it’s much better to go down to the breakfast restaurant and get freshly cooked eggs. In India, I’ve found that local Indian dishes are usually the better choice anyway.

The breakfast bread basket included croissants and chocolate muffins, along with butter and ketchup. I also ordered masala tea, which was served in a generous teapot — a detail I appreciated.

Scrambled eggs and shakshuka were also part of the breakfast order.

Breakfast Buffet

To enter the breakfast restaurant, simply tell the staff your room number at the entrance. While you are eating, they will bring the bill to your table.

Once seated, you can place an “Occupied” card on the table. The table number is used when ordering dishes such as eggs or dosa from the live cooking stations. Guests can either order directly from the menu at the table or walk up to the cooking stations and give their table number when ordering.

The drink station had lassi and ginger shots. The flavor of lassi changes daily, and the strawberry lassi was particularly memorable.

One of my favorite sections was the Asian noodle soup station, where you can customize your own bowl.

The broth is vegetable-based and very clean and refreshing, and there are plenty of toppings and ingredients to choose from.

If you visit an Indian hotel breakfast buffet, I highly recommend trying dosa and masala tea. It’s a great opportunity to explore local flavors.

Andaz Spa

The Andaz Spa and hair salon are located on the first floor of the hotel.

Since India is known for its hair care products, I was curious and decided to try a hair treatment.

Unfortunately, my hair ended up feeling much stiffer afterward, which even surprised the staff haha. Although Indian salons are well known, I personally wouldn’t strongly recommend this particular spa experience for non-locals.

Gym

The hotel gym is well maintained. During the daytime, the staff lowers the blinds to block the intense sunlight.

Outside the window there’s a lawn area where locals seem to walk back and forth continuously — even in the extreme heat.

Meanwhile, the air conditioning inside the gym is extremely powerful, which is quite refreshing compared to the

40°C weather outside. The gym includes four treadmills, two stationary bikes, and free weights.

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool is located in the central courtyard of the hotel building. However, because of the intense Indian summer sun, it was almost always empty whenever I passed by.

Nearby Restaurant: Daryaganj

Most of the time in India I stay inside the hotel, but occasionally it’s nice to explore nearby restaurants.

If you walk about five minutes from the hotel, you’ll find a building with several restaurants, cafés, and even a Starbucks. That’s where Daryaganj Restaurant, a North Indian restaurant, is located.

Since the weather was extremely hot, we started with mojitos to cool down.

We ordered green curry and garlic naan.

We also had a lamb dish and butter chicken. The lamb tasted similar to spicy braised ribs and paired perfectly with rice.

Both my friend and I enjoy Indian cuisine, so we had a great meal. The total bill was around 35,000 KRW, which was very reasonable.

After dinner, we stopped by the nearby Starbucks for a drink to finish the evening.

Overall, Andaz Delhi by Hyatt is a comfortable luxury hotel near Delhi Airport, especially convenient for transit travelers. With solid room service, a diverse breakfast buffet, and good facilities, it’s a reliable choice for a short stay in Delhi.
